Classically Composed!
On Saturday June 15, 2024 the choir sang Mozart's Requiem in its entirety in Latin! The orchestra played a few scores and we also had a youth orchestra that played a few scores as well! Have a listen below of Melody, Ave Verum Corpus and Requiem from this concert!
The Great Lakes Philharmonic and the following guest soloists: Shelagh Tyreman - Soprano, Nancy Claridge - Alto, Robert Hennig - Tenor and John Holland - Bass joined Brampton Festival Singers.
Directors for this memorable event were Robert Hennig and Anton Yeretsky.

The Great Lakes Philharmonic is comprised of musicians from around the GTHA and surrounding areas.
Director: Anton Yeretsky
Anton Yeretsky is a symphonic conductor and concert violinist with over two decades in the Classical Music Industry. Celebrated for energetic and emotionally engaging performances, Anton consistently draws return audiences. An effective interpreter of the music from the classical era he inspires audiences with his deep passion for music. His leadership in performing in and directing international orchestras and educational projects has proven his abilities to work with diverse communities. - Memorable Artistic Performances: Captivated audiences at prestigious venues including Wiener Konzerthaus in Vienna Austria, Wiener Musikverein, Shanghai Symphony Orchestra Concert Hall, Victory Hall, Shanghai Oriental Art Centre, and Opera Marseille in France.
About the Soloists
Shelagh Tyreman
Shelagh has a Bachelor with Honours in Music Performance from the University of Toronto and a graduate of the Opera Division. She has extensive training and experience in piano and conducting as well, and extensive performance experience in Europe and North America in conducting and voice. As a soloist, Shelagh has won the Canadian Opera Women’s Society Prize and the Wagner Society Prize. After performing all over the world, from Notre Dame to the Vatican, Shelagh is now a teacher and the Music Director for St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church in Brampton, Ontario. She especially enjoys teaching young people, and the many styles of music, including music theatre, gospel and folk music, as well as standard classical repertoire.
Nancy Claridge
Nancy has performed in church and community choirs since she was a child. She has performed classics such as Handel’s Messiah, Beethoven’s 9th Symphony and Mozart’s Requiem as a chorister and soloist. In addition to singing in local and regional venues in Ontario, Nancy had the extreme pleasure to perform in Carnegie Hall, New York; Notre Dame Cathedral, Paris and St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome.
Robert Hennig
Robert graduated from the University of Toronto with a Music degree and a post graduate diploma in Music with Honours. Mr. Hennig has won the Toronto Kopaz Foundation award and the Canadian Opera Women’s Society award for excellence in music. He also won the Brampton Arts Council Bloom award, for best new composition, Alleluia for Peace. He is a keyboard as well as a strings specialist. Robert has been directing the Brampton Festival Singers for many years and is the Music Director at St. Joseph of Nazareth Anglican Church in Brampton, Ontario. He has performed in Haydn Hall in the Esterhazy Palace in Vienna, Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris and at Carnegie Hall in New York City.
John Holland
Czech-Canadian Bass-Baritone, John Holland has embarked on a diverse career of opera, oratorio, and art song. In 2020, John won a JUNO award as a member of the Ottawa Bach Choir. He has sung at such locales as the Canadian Opera Company, Mozarteum in Salzburg and San Marco in Venice. Recent performances include Bartolo in Il Barbiere di Siviglia with the Mississauga Symphony, Leporello in Don Giovanni with the Toronto City Opera, and Papageno in Die Zauberflöte with Opera York. Folksong Sing-a-long Event
On Saturday April 20th from 2pm to 3:30pm we came together to enjoy some folk songs together from the 1960's and 70's! We thank all who came out! And a big thanks goes out to St. Joseph of Nazareth Anglican Church for letting us host this event in your lower hall.
